Swing hooks and hangers are used where a line has to be hung rather than lifted: playground swing frames, suspended seating and light overhead fixtures. End fittings are either a snap hook or a D-shackle.

How to select

These fittings suspend a load, they do not lift it. State the suspended weight and the mounting tube size when you enquire.
Confirm the wire or bar diameter and the swing angle in service — a hanger used outside its intended swing range is fatigue loaded.
Dimensional drawings are issued per order against our works certificate. Tell us the tube diameter and the required length.

Safety & use notes

Swing hooks and hangers are for suspending loads, not for lifting them. Do not use them on hoists or lifting appliances.
No rated load is stated for these types. Do not infer a working load from the wire size alone — request the drawing and the load figure in writing before use.
Check the snap hook or shackle closes fully and that the moving parts are not worn, before each installation.

Manufacturing

How it is made

The hook and the swivel body are formed separately.
The swivel bearing surfaces are machined so the hook rotates without play under load.
The assembly is put together with the retaining element, then checked for smooth rotation.
Surface treatment is applied and rotation is re-checked.

What to check on receipt

The hook rotates smoothly under load without binding or excessive play.
The retaining element is secure and the assembly cannot separate.
No cracks or distortion at the swivel or at the hook throat.

FAQ

Are these hooks suitable for lifting?

No. They suspend a load from a fixed frame; they are not lifting hooks and carry no rated load. For overhead lifting, use a forged eye hook with a stated working load limit.

Can you confirm the dimensions before I order?

Yes. Send us the mounting tube diameter, the required length and the suspended weight, and we will issue the dimensional drawing and the load figure against our works certificate for that order.
